ENTROPIC COMMUNICATIONS AND NETGEAR PARTNER TO OFFER THE INDUSTRY'S FIRST MOCA COMPLIANT BRIDGE FOR MULTIMEDIA HOME NETWORKING

Now Available to Consumers, NETGEAR® MCAB1001 Utilizes Entropic's Technology to Offer a New Wired Home Networking Solution

SAN DIEGO, December 18, 2008 - Entropic Communications, Inc. (Nasdaq: ENTR), a leading provider of silicon solutions to enable connected home entertainment, in conjunction with NETGEAR, a worldwide provider of technologically advanced, branded networking solutions, today announced the availability of NETGEAR® MCAB1001, the industry's first home networking MoCA®-certified, Ethernet-to-coax bridge kit. The MCAB1001 is designed specifically for consumers wishing to upgrade to a wired home entertainment network for fast and reliable HD video streaming, HD gaming, and PC-to-TV applications.

Robust Home Entertainment Network
The NETGEAR Ethernet-to-coax bridge kit MCAB1001 allows consumers to turn their existing coax wiring into a high-powered home entertainment network. According to the National Cable and Telecommunications Association (NCTA), there are over 120 million homes passed by cable in the United States and now NETGEAR is offering these consumers an easy "no new wires" solution to create a high-speed home network for HD movie streaming, multi-room content sharing, easy over-the-top video and enhanced online gaming.

The MCAB1001 incorporates Entropic's EN2210 chip set, which analyzes and distributes multimedia content, including multiple streams of digital HD video and audio, throughout the home ensuring superior reliability and latency.

"NETGEAR is recognized as an industry leader of home networking solutions and we are delighted to partner with them to deliver the first MoCA consumer products," stated Patrick Henry, CEO at Entropic. "The MCAB1001 Ethernet-to-coax bridge kit will give consumers the ability to easily set up a robust home entertainment network. With the speed, reliability and low latency provided by Entropic's c.LINK® MoCA technology, consumers can take online gaming to a new level and enjoy seamless whole-home access to their multimedia content."

Powered by Entropic's c.LINK Technology
NETGEAR's MCAB1001 is powered by Entropic's EN2210 c.LINK chip set which enables a complete coaxial networking solution for the distribution of multiple streams of HD video, digital voice, broadband data, and other digital content. The NETGEAR MCAB1001 is based on the MoCA standard, which provides superior throughput and range versus other wired and wireless networking technologies available today.

"We are pleased to be working with Entropic Communications to bring to market the first industry-standard and certified MoCA Ethernet-to-coax bridge," stated David Henry, senior director of product marketing, Home/Consumer Products at NETGEAR. "Our MCAB1001 is designed for multiple simultaneous HD video streams and online gaming applications, enabling consumers to distribute high-definition digital video and multimedia content to HD televisions, digital and Internet set-top boxes, computers and other networked devices without running any additional wires."

Easy to Install and Available for Order
NETGEAR's Ethernet-to-coax bridge kit is easy to install. Since the MCAB1001 leverages the coax wiring already installed in consumers' homes, it enables a fast, secure and robust network without the need for new wiring, modifications or professional installation.

The NETGEAR MCAB1001, which incorporates Entropic's c.LINK technology, is available for order online and is expected to be available through NETGEAR's network of value-added resellers and distributors in Q1 of 2009.

Live Demonstration at 2009 International CES
NETGEAR will be showcasing the MCAB1001 at the 2009 International CES (Booth 30769, South Hall). Entropic Communications will be featuring the NETGEAR MCAB1001 in live demonstrations streaming multiple streams of HD video during the show (Booth 25829, South Hall).
