I am an ISP – are you? A technology case study presentation why MoCA should be your in-home video/audio technology backbone.
Traditional telephone companies are rapidly evolving into integrated service providers, offering pay TV programming to round out their triple and quad play service offerings, and to keep pace with the competition. However, the challenges confronting all service providers go beyond technology and include variables such as applications, consumer behavior, cost of installation, and portability of applications onto other platforms. "More than just raw performance, there are strict requirements for reliability of packet delivery, integration with other services in the home, and a technology roadmap guaranteeing that investment in current equipment is safe and sound. All service providers must evaluate the various technology standards with a critical eye toward short and long-term economic benefits," said Robert Gelphman, chair of the market work group for MoCA.
MoCA board member, Broadcom Corporation, will discuss DLNA and how MoCA integrates within that Alliance's Interoperability Guidelines—and why all service providers should care. All presenters will be available after the session for additional questions. MoCA will be demonstrating many of its members' certified products in a live demonstration at its TelcoTV 2010 booth, SP-150.
