Tony Werner is Comcast Cable's Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer. In this role he is responsible for developing and guiding the company's technology strategy and evolving network architecture, including supporting next-generation consumer systems and technologies, infrastructure and engineering, network integration and management tools and technical standards.

Mr. Werner most recently served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Liberty Global, Inc., in Englewood, CO, leading the company's global strategy for video, voice and data services. Werner has more than 25 years of engineering and technical management experience, having held senior management positions with Qwest Communications, Aurora Networks, TeleCommunications, Inc. (TCI)/AT&T Broadband, Rogers Communications, Inc., and RCA Cablevision Systems.

A graduate of Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, MN, with a degree in Telecommunications, Werner resides in Philadelphia.


Jim Strothmann

Jim Strothmann is Director, Product Strategy & Management, for Home Entertainment Initiatives at Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco company. In his role, Jim is responsible for managing and charting the future course of the digital video delivery platforms and the company's Connected Home initiatives for the service provider market.

Prior to coming to Scientific Atlanta in 2004, Jim held various engineering and marketing positions at Thomson Consumer Electronics (RCA, GE, and ProScan brands), including Hardware Design Manager for RCA DVD Players and system engineer for DirecTV video decoders. He later managed worldwide connectivity for Thomson digital televisions.

Jim began his career working for IBM as a design engineer in Lexington, KY. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1990, and an MBA from Indiana University in 1999.


Brendan Traw

Intel Corporation

Brendan Traw is an Intel Fellow and chief technology officer for Intel's Digital Home Group. He is responsible for strategic initiatives and the architecture for Intel's consumer PC and consumer electronics platforms. Previously, he focused on the management and protection of entertainment content in digital environments, leading the team which developed Digital Transmission Content Protection (DTCP), the basis for content protection in today's digital home networks, as well as a range of other content protection solutions for recordable DVD, DVD-Audio, SDcard, and the DVI/HDMI display interfaces.

A recognized leader across the computer, consumer electronics and content industries, he has published numerous papers and holds 19 patents in the areas of content protection, system architecture, and network security. Traw received his Ph.D. in computer information science from the University of Pennsylvania.


Mark Wegleitner

Mark Wegleitner is Senior Vice President - Technology and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Verizon Communications. His responsibilities include technology assessment, network architecture, platform development and laboratory testing for the local and long distance wireline communications businesses, as well as network planning for local wireline communications. In his current role, he and his organization support all wireline business units in the management of technology and network matters.

Prior to his current assignment, Wegleitner served as Vice President, Technology & Engineering at Bell Atlantic Network Services, where he was responsible for all technology and engineering functions. And prior to that, he was CTO at Bell Atlantic Network Services.

Since joining Bell Atlantic, he has also held a variety of other management positions in strategic planning, network architecture, technology development, information systems, research and development, broadband implementation and new services technology.

Wegleitner began his career with Bell Telephone Laboratories in local switching systems development. He later joined the exchange switching systems design organization at AT&T General Departments, where he had responsibility for the introduction of new features and services on local switching systems. He held another brief assignment with Bell Laboratories in local switching systems engineering before transferring to Bell Atlantic.

Wegleitner received a B.A. in mathematics from St. John's University, and an M.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley.


Ray Sokola

Ray Sokola is Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Motorola's Home and Networks Mobility business. In this position, Ray leads the technology team to drive profitable growth through visible technology and innovation leadership, IP creation and timely integration of new technologies that create new business opportunities.

A 27-year Motorolan, Ray previously held the position of Corporate Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of the Integrated Electronics Systems Sector of Motorola.

Prior to that role, he was General Manager of Motorola's Telematics Group, which supplied the in-vehicle equipment for OnStar and other security and information services for drivers. In addition, he was General Manager of the ceramic filter business, and spent his first 10 years at Motorola developing cellular mobile and handset technology.

Ray holds a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware. A recipient of 16 patents, he has been awarded three Motorola Patent of the Year Awards and received Motorola's Distinguished Innovator Award.
