He was also an eight-year advisor to the FCC Advisory Committee on Advanced Television Service testing and developing HDTV systems for the US.

As Senior Product Manager within the Business Unit defining Cisco’s Next Generation IP Video Platform, Jon is responsible for developing and driving business and product strategy for Cisco’s next generation gateways, including DOSCIS Residential Gateways, as well as advanced services platforms. Jon has more than 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry encompassing development engineering and product management of data, voice, and video networking products. Prior to joining Cisco, Jon was Director of Product Management for Intellon Corporation, a market leader in power line communications semiconductors for digital home networking. Jon also has entrepreneurial experience at companies developing solutions for Wi-Fi as well as VoIP products. Earlier in his career he worked at Scientific Atlanta in hardware engineering developing mobile voice satellite communications systems.

He has focused his career on exploring new technologies and was instrumental developing and launching cable modem service for Comcast.
Anton Monk, Ph.D.

Prior to co-founding Entropic, he led standards activities, physical layer system design and IC verification for several Conexant product lines, including cable modems and fixed wireless access. Before Conexant, he was involved in the development of cable and satellite ICs at Comstream Corporation and performed communication system research at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California.

In this role in the Technology organization John's team is responsible for the evaluation of new technologies, platform architecture development and design of the video delivery solutions. Key areas of interest include next generation CPE solutions including gateway based designs, streaming solutions for unmanaged networks, content protection and distribution, video compression. John is also involved in evaluating next generation solutions for coax access network solutions to meet the growing consumer demands. John has been in the telecommunications industry since 1989 in various roles including advertising delivery technologies, operations, product development and currently future platform architectures.

Jim has over 10 years of experience in the cable industry beginning with Moxi Inc and Digeo Inc where he was engineering director delivering an advanced STB to the cable market, then Cable marketing director at Intel where Jim has worked on promoting the gateway architecture for video delivery within the home and to raise the bar on the performance of STB devices in the home to drive a new level of user experience.
